Heat escapes a 1 point lead over Bobcats

Miami Heat has been trailing behind Bobcats for the first 3 quarters but came up strong and force some TO's for the Bobcats to escape with a 1 point lead. It was 19 sec left in the final quarter and Miami Heat committed a turnover from Dwyane Wade. After making a time out Henderson made a shot beyond the arc off a pass from Boris Diaw 12.2 secs left in the clock. But that was not yet game over as Dwyane Wade converted a difficult shot behind a tough defense from Henderson which gives them a 1 point lead again. 2.9 seconds left Augustine let a 3 point attempt fly but missed the attempt giving the Heat their 3rd win this season.

NBA 2011-2012 Preseason Continues... Wednesday Schedule of Games

As the NBA 2011-2012 preseason continues we will be having 8 games today. First to be playing is the Miami Heat against the Orlando Magic at 7:00pm EST. On their last encounter Miami Heat won by a wide margin courtesy of its key players Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. Today Orlando Magic will gonna try to salvage a win and even the series to boost the team morale going to the regular season that will gonna start on Dec. 25. At 7:30pm EST Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics will face Toronto Raptors which they have defeated via a slim margin of 1 point only. The game was very close until the final buzzer. Paul Pierce didn't play on that game but Rajon Rondo provided a strong leadership and makes all his team mate involve by dishing out 8 assists.



Team that I am sure we need to keep on watch also is the New York Knicks which I think will be 1 of the playoffs contender after the regular season ends. After acquiring Tyson Chandler Knicks solidify its defense and allowing Amare to play on its usual role as a power forward. Last year Knicks got into the playoffs but lost because they don't have a legit center by that time. Another team to watch today is the Minnesota Timberwolves which consists mostly of younger but skillful players. The team (timberwolves) is also 1 of my bet to enter the playoff this season because of the complete lineup that they have. Kevin Love last years rebound leader will get a support aside from Michael Beasley on their first round 2nd draftee Derrick Williams. Aside from Williams they also acquired Spanish superstar Ricky Rubio and Puerto Rico's JJ Barrea.

Other teams that will play today are Memphis Grizzlies against New Orleans Hornets; Houston Rockets vs SA Spurs; Portland Trail Blazers vs Utah Jazz and LA Lakers vs LA Clippers. LA Lakers last time lost to Clippers via a wide margin also. Kobe Bryant doesn;t get much support from the team aside from Pau Gasol but the their bench is very shallow. That is why going on the 2011-2012 Regular season I have this doubt if the Lakers could make it to the playoff. If Bryant be able to get a support from his teammates then they can pull it off. But today playing against Clippers I think they will gonna have a hard time. Chris Paul proves last time that he can still win a game and with the aid of Chauncey Billups, Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan the 2011-2012 playoff is not that hard to achieve.

Tuesday NBA 2011-2012 Preseason Games

Today December 20, 6 NBA game will be played simultaneously from different basketball arena. As we all know preseason games are made in order for newly acquired player of a team to become familiar or to be able to suit on their current team. This will allow them to familiarize with the teams offense and defense, know how each other players play and develop camaraderie with his new teammates.



First game today will gonna feature Washington Wizard against Philadelphia 76er's. Wizards is lead by their last years rookie of the year John Wall which on their first game scored only 6 points and gave in 3 assist. And they eventually lost to 76er's lead by Elton Brand with a 25 point lead advantage for a 103-78 final score. Wizard vs 76er's tip off is at 7:00pm EST.

Another game today is Detroit Pistons vs Cleveland Cavaliers. Cavaliers came off a win against Pistons last Friday with Rookie Kyrie Irving topped in scoring with 21 points. At 8:00pm EST Indiana Pacers will go against Chicago Bulls who defeated them last Friday with a 9 point lead. Pacers will gonna try to even the game today. Along with Pacers vs Bulls, Dallas will also try to snatch a game against OKC Thunder lead by Kevin Durant. Last outing Dirk Nowitzki didn't play the entire game but we'll see if the coach will put him in today to help his team even the series with the Thunder.

Other team to watch today are Phoenix Suns vs Denver Nuggets at 9:00pm EST and the Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings. Owen Coyle says that he admitted that the defeats leading to Boston relegation showdonw against Rovers have been killing him inside already.

Chauncey Billups scored 23 points and Chris Paul added 17 for a combined 40 point that lead them to win against LA Lakers on the on going preseason tournament. Going into the 2nd half Clippers is only ahead by 5 points 50-55 butat the start of the 3rd quarter Paul and Billups rallied and the Clippers never looked back up to the final buzzer.

Kobe Bryant tried to bring the team up and is looking superb but with a little help from bench they couldn't get the things going with their offense. Bryant finished with 22 points with Bynum and P. Gasol chipped in 15 and 16 points respectively.

NBA 2011-2012 Preseason Game: Clippers vs Lakers

LA Lakers will be facing the LA Clippers later today with Clippers parading its newly acquired superstar Chris Paul. Before the lockout ends their are rumors that Paul will go to Lakers but the trade doesn't materialize because David Stern NBA Commissioner blocked the trade. So Chris Paul went on the Clippers and now in tandem with 2010-2011 slam dunk champion Blake Griffin. Many says that Clippers will be able to made it to the playoff this season with Chris Paul on the team and Lakers will go down because Kobe Bryant is lacking some backup to be able to reach the playoff spot. But all I can say is "Let's wait and see".



Today we will also witness 2 other teams that will compete this preseason tournament. They are the Atlanta Hawks against the Charlotte Bobcats and Utah Jazz vs Portland Trail Blazers. Hawks has been on the playoff last season but was defeated by Chicago Bulls on game 6.

Miami Heat lead by Lebron James got a very wide margin of 33 points against Orlando Magic. On the first half of the game Wade is taking over the Heat until the 2nd half where James gives his contribution that give way for the Heat to extend their lead. Magics center Dwight Howard didn't do much damage giving only 5 points and 6 rebounds. James lead the scoring with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Chris Bosh 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Terrel Harris 16 points and 4 rebounds. Dwyane Wade 14 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Udonis Haslem 11 points and 9 rebounds. Norris Cole 8 points and 8 assists.

NBA on Sunday: 2011-2012 PreSeason Continues

This Sunday Dec. 18 we will be having 3 great games to watch. The first team that we will be watching is the Boston Celtics going up against the Toronto Raptors. Celtics is on the playoff last season but was eliminated by its rival Miami Heat lead by Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. However on that playoff Rajon Rondo the main guard of Celtics injured his left shoulder. So I am looking for another great year for this team if no injuries will hinder their superstars with the like of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnet and Rajon Rondo. These players are key factor for the team to reach the playoff again.



Next game we have Miami Heat battles against Howard-less Orlando Magic. I am predicting an easy win for the Heat today. Nobody can stop the Big 3 of the Heat namely Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Orlando Magic meanwhile will just rely to Richardson and Torkoglu to lift the team up.

Last game today is the 2010-2011 NBA Finals Champion Dallas Mavericks going against Oklahoma City Thunder lead by Kevin Durant. Dallas a we know acquired Lamar Odom from LA Lakers but lost its important players who helped them win a championship last year. We know that JJ Barea is now at Timberwolves and had played a solid game yesterday against the Bucks. They also lost Chandler which is their main weapon last season to gather rebounds.

Key factor on the game also is the rebounding and assists department in which the warrior are leading against the Kings. On rebounding department Warriors had 24 compared to only 16 of the Kings and Warriors has also provided 16 assists against 11 of the Sacramento Kings.

Timberwolves won over Bucks with a wide margin

Minnesota Timberwolves won over Milwaukee Bucks with an 18 point advantage. Wolves rally behind Kevin Love and Michael Beasley each has 21 point a piece. Kevin Love posted another double-double performance on this preseason game with 21pts and 15 rebs. Newly acquired Derrick Williams and JJ Barea both chipped in 14 points with Williams pouring in 3 out of 4 beyond the arc. It was wolves outside shooting and rebounding that helped them win this game today. Ricky Rubio of Spain also have a good start giving in 6 pts, 7 asts, 2 stls. and 6 rebs which shows that he is really a complete player. Timberwolves is really a tram to watch this 2011-2012 season and I am anticipating that they will be a top contender for a playoff spot.

This is the 2nd day of our NBA preseason tournament and now the Wolves will go up facing the Bucks. Wolves is our team to watch today after they acquired the Spanish superstar Ricky Rubio. Rubio as we all has been notice when he played under Spanish Flag on the Olympic Games and been 1 of the top point guard of Liga ACB a basketball tournament in Spain. Wolves has also Derrick Williams a number 2 first round pick that leaves a record during his NCAA years a 60% shooting from beyond the arc. They are also one of my team to watch this season because of the deep of their bench. They have the likes of Kevin Love which is a rebounding machine, Michael Beasley and JJ Barea who is one of the key factor for Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Finals last season.



Meanwhile Bucks will parade its players also lead by Andrew Bogut a 7 foot 1 center who is 2nd in blockshot last season behind Dwight Howard. Bogut also has an average of at least 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds per game along with his 2.5 average block per game. And he will be supported by the likes of Carlos Delfino from Argentina, Brandon Jennings, Stephen Jackson and Drew Gooden.

Last Saturday's bout between Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson seems controversial to Khan's fans. Khan lost to Peterson via Split-Decision last Saturday night. Khan has been warned already by the referee to stop pushing but it seems that he is not listening and cost him to have deducted 1 point each on round 7 and round 12. If not for those deductions Khan could've have won the fight via unanimous decision. After announcing the winner Amir fans cried for robbery and said that they have lost by a hometown decision against the hometown boy.

Anyway, below are prohibited during a boxing match.

Not following these rules rules may be ruled "fouls" by the referee, who may issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify an offending boxer, causing an automatic loss.

But, how about the Mayweather-Hatton fight? During the entire fight mayweather have using lots of elbows. On the video below you can clearly see that Mayweather has been consistently used his elbow against Hatton. But why referee Joe Cortez didn't give any warning or point deductions against Mayweather? Peterson won via SD over Amir Khan

Newly crowned WBA & IBF Jr. Welterweight champion Lamont Peterson got a very closed win against Amir Khan held at the Convention Center, Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Khan dropped Peterson earlier but Peterson finished strong with Khan having been deducted 2 points from successively pushing and shoving Peterson. As what we have seen Khan can't take Peterson's pressure fighting that caught him with some solid punches. With that Khan forced to pushed and shoved Peterson on the later rounds.

Without the 2 point deduction Khan could've won via unanimous decision with a score from judges: 113-114, 116-111, 113-114 all for Khan. But with the 2 point deductions as advised by the referee the official scorecards came this way:

Philippine Cheerleading Team finished 3rd place in the just concluded 6th Cheerleading World Championship held in Hong Kong. The team joined in the Cheer Mixed Category and is lead by the UP Pep Squad joined by some members of Centro Escolar University and Polytechnic University of the Philippines pep squads.

The Team finished behind Japan Cheerleading Team and the Team from Thailand. These top 2 teams have been a constant winner of the previous cheerleading competition and winning behind them is already a big achievement for the Philippine Team.

She eventually run the ball after she got the rebound and hop thinking that the time has already expired or ended. That error gave the Thai's gunner knocked in a buzzer beating shot.

Cynthia Tiu, manager of Perlas Pilipinas is putting last Saturday's result into protests saying that they will fight for this until everything is settled with FIBA. Tiu also says that she cannot put aside the players effort to reach the gold match with Thailand. And after she saw the videotape showing the Thai stepped on the line when she fired the crucial shot counted by the referees as a game tying three point shot she is determined to fight for it.

Sinag Pilipinas 103 - Thailand NT 69

Another great win today for Sinag Pilipinas as they routed to a 34 point deficit over Thailand. On the first half of the game Sinag seems they couldn't get their rhythm going but played differently on the 2nd half.

Clifford Hodge leads the team in scoring with 15 points followed by Ravena with 14 and Salva with 12. Ellis also shows his high flying game with a tomahawk and double handed slam midway through the 4th quarter.

But Ravena's game is notably great as he also leads in assist-5 and steals-4 together with his 14 points along with a couple of 3's in the 4th quarter. The team also got a balance scoring system with 6 of its players in double figures.

Philippines Basketball Team Sinag Grabbed 2nd Win

After a superb performance over Cambodia yesterday (Phil-127 Cam-68) Team Sinag again showed its power by winning over Vietnam today 107-53. Greg Slaughter has 20 points while yesterday's top gunner Kiefer Ravena chipped in 8 points only. Four players of Sinag scored in double figures today but most of the players put on court has their own contribution also.

Chris Tiu also gives this team a good exposure as he himself set up each player to shoot to gain confidence on international tournaments. Tiu doesn't force every shot but was a good leader for the juniors.

Tomorrow Sinag will campaign again on a match taller Thailander but I myself sees a massacre again tomorrow.

Nov 5, 2011 - On previous week I choose the Patriots, the Bengals and the Eagles to be on upset watch. I have the Patriots games
right but Bengals and Eagles won their games without much effort. The upsets are very hard to pick but I think I have a pretty good handle on which favored teams are in a little bit of trouble this weekend. Here are the three teams I think need to be on upset alert in Week 9.


Washington Redskins over San Francisco 49ers

Where: Washington D.C.

Spread: 49ers by four

Why:

I'm picking the Redskins to possibly beat the 49ers on Sunday for two reasons. One: any team that travels from one extreme side of the country to the other to play a football game usually has a pretty tough time. There's a lot of miles between the two cities and a considerable amount of jet lag and even though these guys are professionals , that does make a difference.


The other reason is because with a 3-4 record, the Redskins aren't necessarily out of the running in the NFC East quite yet. If they win on Sunday, they can start to build their way back into the running but if they lose they'll have a hard time battling back. They know this and they'll do everything they can to win.
Cincinnati Bengals over Tennessee Titans

The Bengals are riding a four-game win streak and after winning in Seattle in Week 8, they head to Tennessee to play the 4-3 Titans. The reason I'm picking this game is because of the Bengals defense. The Bengals have the fourth best defense in the league and the second best defense against the run. When you combine that with the Titans' inability to run the ball with Chris Johnson and Javon Ringer, you get a recipe for an upset. I'm thinking that the bengals offense won't need to score too many points to get the win.

In which instead of 10-6 score on first round he just give 10-7 which should have given Pacquiao a Split decision win.

On their 2nd fight Marquez prove that he is Pacquiao's kryptonite. Hitting Pacquiao accurately but the 3rd round knockdown from Pacquiao turned to be the decisive factor. Pacquiao won the fight via split-deicision. And after the fight Marquez Camp called for an immediate rematch. But Pacquiao said the fight is over and move up in weight.
